Privacy Policy
This policy explains what SpeakDance (speakdance.com) collects, why, and what you can do about it. It should be read together with our Terms of Service.
1. What we collect
- Account details: your email address; your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google or GitHub; your phone number if you sign in with a phone number.
- Content you provide: scripts, photos and voice samples you upload, the optional transcript of a voice sample, and the audio and videos we generate for you.
- Billing records: your balance and a log of holds, charges and refunds. We do not currently take card payments.
- Technical data: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, your IP address and request times (used for rate limiting and abuse prevention), and settings stored in your own browser.
2. How we use it
- To sign you in, send you verification codes, and keep your account secure.
- To generate the audio and videos you ask for, and show you their progress and results.
- To charge, hold and refund your balance.
- To prevent fraud, spam and abuse, and to fix problems.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your photos, voice samples, scripts or generated content to train AI models.
3. Photos and voice samples
Photos and voice samples are used only to generate content for the account that uploaded them. They are not shown to other users and are not made public. You can delete an uploaded photo or voice at any time on the “My avatars & voices” page.
4. Text messaging (SMS)
- No mobile numbers will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
- Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
- Messages are delivered through AWS Notify. AWS does not share end user phone numbers with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.
We use your phone number only to send the verification codes you request. You can reply STOP to stop messages. See section 6 of our Terms of Service for the full messaging terms.
5. Service providers
We use the following providers to run the Service. They process data on our behalf and only for that purpose:
- Cloudflare: website hosting, database, and file storage.
- Amazon Web Services: GPU servers that generate audio and video, and SMS delivery through AWS Notify.
- Resend: sending sign-in code emails.
- Google and GitHub: only if you choose to sign in with them.
These providers may process data in the United States and other countries.
6. How long we keep data
We keep your account data, uploads and generated content until you delete them or ask us to delete your account. Rate-limiting logs are kept for a short period. We may keep billing records longer where required by law.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or delete your account, by emailing [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law, such as the GDPR or the CCPA.
8. Children
The Service is not intended for children under 13 (under 16 in the European Economic Area), and we do not knowingly collect their information.
9. Security
Connections use HTTPS. We store only hashes of session tokens and verification codes, and access to uploads and outputs is limited to the account that owns them. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us if you notice a problem.
10. Changes
We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date.
